SpiceJet expects to be profitable soon enough

SpiceJet is one of the budget airline operators in the Indian aviation market and the company has said that they are expecting to start making an operating profit in March with the arrival of new planes.

SpiceJet Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Siddhanta Sharma said in a statement: “We expect to break even in March thanks to capacity addition of two new planes.” This would add on to the company’s existing fleet of five aircraft.

This fleet expansion would help the company drive revenue growth 70 percent higher and enable the firm to make a profit. Sharma also added that the company had confirmed an option with Boeing to buy 10 more 737-800 aircraft in addition to a January 2005 order of 10 planes.

SpiceJet has also said in a statement that the budget operators in the market would have to continue keep the rates low to keep the interest on in the potential air travelers.
