Carlos Ghosn pretty sure about what he wants from the GM deal

Carlos Ghosn is the chief executive officer of Renault and Nissan and he is pretty sure on what he wants from a possible alliance with the world’s largest automaker General Motors.

Ghosn said in a statement that he wants the probable gains for his companies from an alliance with General Motors Corp. to be at least 10 times more than the risks involved to go ahead with a deal.

He also confirmed that he has no plans to demand a management position with GM.

The three companies are currently involved in discussion of possible alliances in areas such as purchasing and they are likely to come up with a single number for potential savings or gains.

Ghosn said: “If we decide it’s not enough of a profit and growth boost, why would we go and work together? If we say no, that’s it, we stop. If we say yes, then we’ll see how to organize things.”
