Ford might sell Jaguar brand to cut losses
US based automaker Ford has always been in trouble with their acquisition Jaguar. And the company is now considering alternatives to control the losses at this luxury car division.
Market experts believe that billionaire Russian oligarch could be the ideal buyer for Jaguar in case Ford decides to sell off the brand.
The losses at Jaguar has put a lot of pressure on Ford Motors which itself is struggling to keep their American operations profitable.
Global Insight analyst Christoph Stuermer said in a statement on this possible deal: “It would be a fantastic story, a real Cinderella story, if (Smolensky) would say ‘Now that I have the sports car what if I buy the sedans as well and make this into a real upscale British brand powerhouse?’”.
