Roland Junck to head Arcelor Mittal steel company

Steelmaker Arcelor and Mittal Steel have announced that Arcelor’s vice-president Roland Junck would be heading the new company formed by the merger of the two giants.

Arcelor finally agreed for a merger with Mittal Steel last month after months of refusals and talks between the two companies.

The announcement of Roland Junck as the new head of the merged entity came out after the two companies voted in a management board of three executives from each company.

They also confirmed the appointment of Aditya Mittal, son of Mittal Steel chairperson LN Mittal as the merged firm’s chief financial officer.

Interestingly, Guy Dolle, the chief executive of Arcelor would not have an executive role in the newly formed company. LN Mittal would take over as the president of the new firm and would become the chairman of the group in the near future.

The merged company would be called Arcelor-Mittal and the board of the new company would meet for the first time tomorrow.
