Airline companies in USA raise fare for business travelers

US based airline companies have raised the fare by up to $10 one-way for tickets geared at business travelers.

These aviation companies want to take the advantage of the robust demand at the tail end of the peak summer travel season.

The trend was started by United Airlines, owned by UAL Corp., which increased the fare by $5 each way prices on tickets for flights of less than 1,000 miles and $10 for flights of more than 1,000 miles.

This price hike was than matched by rivals including Continental Airlines Inc., US Airways Group Inc., Delta Air Lines Inc. and Northwest Airlines Corp.
