Ford planning to launch CNG Ikon by September
US based automaker Ford has said that they expect to double their sales in the Indian market this year.
This would be mainly fueled by the impressive sales of their recently launched new car Ford Fiesta in the Indian market.
The company is also planning to launch a CNG driven Ikon by September this year.
Ford India President and Managing Director Arvind Mathew said in a statement: “We sold around 25,000 units last year and this year, we have crossed this number by June itself. We feel that going by this rate; we will end 2006 with a near 100 per cent growth in year-on-year sales.”
The company also launched an updated version of their ‘Fusion’ model and has reduced the price of this vehicle by around Rs 60,000 to Rs 5.69 lakhs. Ford also sells other models including ‘Mondeo’ and SUV ‘Endeavour’ in the Indian market.
