Sanyo and Quanta Computer collaborating for television business
Sanyo Electric is collaborating with Quanta Computer on an alliance in the television business. However, the scope of this deal is narrower than what they had expected to in the beginning.
This deal would include unified platforms and joint procurement of parts and materials.
Sanyo director Mitsuru Honma spoke in a release on this new collaborative deal: \”What we are announcing today is just a first step in our cooperation. We aim to make our joint business more powerful. We are deep in talks to raise the level of our cooperation early next year.\”
This deal would also see Quanta Computer taking a 19 percent stake in a new company established through a spin-off of Sanyo\’s TV development and procurement operations.
