Rolf Schmidt-Holtz is the new CEO of Sony BMG
Sony BMG has announced that they are demoting the current CEO of the company Andrew Lack to the position of the chairman of the board. He is being replaced by Rolf Schmidt-Holtz who would now be working as the new CEO of the company.
The reason behind this replacement is that the company believes that the former CEO simply was not living up to the company’s expectations. This announcement was more than expected considering Lack’s reign at CEO has been heavily criticized over the past several months.
The problem was at its peak when the company was reportedly slammed in the media for using controversial DRM technology in their Audio CDs, which resulted in vulnerable machines susceptible to virus and worm attacks. The company was sued and is still trying hard to get out of that Public Relations nightmare.
Schmidt-Holtz is currently residing in Germany but now would be relocating to the USA to take over his new job in the company.
