Ford confirms that they are considering selling off Aston Martin
US based automaker Ford has confirmed that they are considering selling off their Aston Martin luxury unit.
They want to sell this brand to free resources to invest in its other brands as they are suffering massive falls in sales in the domestic market of United States.
Aston Martin has failed to meet the sales expectations of the company. In fact, the Ford’s luxury having famous brands like Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo and Aston Martin are losing millions of dollars for the company.
Ford Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bill Ford said in a statement on this issue: “As part of our ongoing strategic review, we have determined that Aston Martin may be an attractive opportunity to raise capital and generate value.”
Ford had bought a controlling stake in Aston Martin long time back in 1987. They took control of the company few years later.
