Amazon launches Amazon Unbox digital video download service

Internet ecommerce giants Amazon have finally launched the much rumored and talked about digital video download service named Amazon Unbox.

This internet service is now offering movies and television shows, which can be purchased and downloaded on users on their computers.

They are currently offering content from as many as six major Hollywood studios. These include 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros in addition to TV networks CBS and Fox. Even cable channels are included like Comedy Central and E! Entertainment.

The service enables the consumer to purchase the content on one computer and download it on another. However, they would not be able to copy the content on a DVD disk to play them on regular DVD players.

Amazon has said that the movies will be priced between $7.99 and $14.99. Television shows would cost $1.99 per episode. Users can also rent the movies for $3.99.

The television shows would be available on download just the day after they are aired on the television.
