Airbus still trails Boeing on orders this year
Europe based aircraft manufacturer Airbus managed to garner orders of 22 aircraft in August. This means that the company has orders of around 222 planes for the current year.
However, they are still far behind their rivals Boeing which has confirmed orders of 548 planes. They added orders of 30 planes last month.
Boeing is benefiting from their new 787 aircraft due in 2008. Airbus is failing to attract new customers for their mid-sized models and might lose their winning streak in this segment of the aviation industry.
Airbus however managed to lead Boeing in the number of deliveries made to their clients. The company delivered 283 planes compared to 258 for Boeing for the month of August.
