Dell to establish a unit in Poland

World’s largest maker of personal computers Dell has signed on a preliminary deal with Poland’s government, as they would now be building a $250 million plant in the country.

This new plant would cater to the ever-growing demand from the Central and Eastern Europe.

The letter of intent was signed on by Polish Economy Minister Piotr Wozniak and Sean Corkery, Dell’s vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This unit would be located in the central city of Lodz.

Dell added that this new plant would create some 1,000 jobs in Poland. They would be manufacturing Latitude and Inspiron notebooks at this unit. This would be dell’s second plant in Europe after the unit based in Limerick, Ireland.

Polish Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski spoke on this new development: “In Poland, modern technology industry is beginning to gear up. This is an answer to the question of how to keep the best-educated people in the country.”
