Yahoo! India to expand its headcount in the country
Search engine company Yahoo! has said that they would be expanding on their operations in the Indian market.
Yahoo! India has now announced their plans to make applications such as a web browser for the mobile platform (why cannot they simply promote Opera!) at their R&D centre in Bangalore.
The company now aims to hire an additional workforce of 200 software engineers, which would take their total headcount at the center to around 1000 employees.
Yahoo! also plans to come out with a variety of software products from this division in the coming months.
Daniel Rosensweig, COO of Yahoo global said in a statement on this new development: “Yahoo! India is no more focusing on India alone, but will make products for the world and lead in technological advances.”
India now becomes the company’s second biggest development centre and would have around 10% of their total workforce.
