Nokia to hire more at their manufacturing unit in India
World’s largest maker of mobile phones Nokia now has a manufacturing facility based in India and they are already planning to expand it to meet the growing demand in the domestic market.
The company is planning to double the headcount at its new handset manufacturing facility in India from around 3,700 people currently.
In addition, they are also aiming to enhance the production capacities to manufacture more models at this facility.
Nokia currently manufactures around nine models at this unit. Jukka Lehtela, director of Nokia’s India operations spoke on these plans: “Growth plans will depend upon various local and global factors affecting demand. But, broadly, this is what we expect to do over the next 9-12 months.”
