Dell to hire more for their unit in Texas

World’s largest maker of personal computers Dell has said in a statement that they would be hiring another 500 engineers to work in its central Texas product development operations.

These plans were announced by founder and Chairman Michael Dell who said that the company would immediately begin hiring new electrical, software and mechanical engineers and program managers.

The company already employees 18,000 workers at its Round Rock headquarters and other Austin-area locations.

Dell has been in a PR mess lately mostly due to the recent recall of 4.1 million laptop batteries originally manufactured by Sony. These batteries are said to be prone to overheating and could result in fire.
