Siemens announces plan to help BenQ workers
Germany based electronics giant Siemens has announced that they are stepping in to help the workers at their former cell phone business now owned by BenQ.
The company now plans to defer an executive pay hike and contribute the proceeds to a 35 million Euro fund to help these workers.
Siemens had sold their mobile phone division to BenQ around a year ago, as the venture was unprofitable for the company.
BenQ on their part recently announced that they now longer could pump in money in this venture, as there was little chance of it getting any better.
The company now plans to help the workers by spending on enhancing their skill sets to secure new jobs.
