Washington Times offering audio version of their news content
The Washington Times has announced the launch of a new feature on their website, which enables the user to get an audio version of their news stories.
This service translates all the content available in news stories on the website into streamed audio and MP3 files.
They call this system Click-2-Listen and it has been developed by NewsWorthy Audio, which uses their own proprietary “Professional Text-to-Speech” technology.
This new feature is compatible with software applications including Windows Media Player, iTunes, RealPlayer, QuickTime, and others.
David Eldridge, the managing editor of WashingtonTimes.com spoke on this new feature addition: “We all rush every morning to get everything done. With this, you can plug in your iPod and download the files and you can listen to them anytime and anywhere, even while you are driving or multi-tasking. For a town as full of busy people and news-junkies as [Washington D.C.] it’s very useful.”
