Motorola and Deutsche Telekom AG investing in Ruckus Wireless
Motorola Inc. and Deutsche Telekom AG have announced that they are investing in Ruckus Wireless Inc., which specializes in making Wi-Fi routers designed to beam TV and other media around the home.
The company is led by Silicon Valley executive Selina Lo and they now have a total investment of around USD 30 million for this venture.
Ruckus would be using these additional funds to expand production and marketing for the company’s MediaFlex wireless router.
This router tries to overcome the shortcomings in traditional routers, which make it hard to transmit live TV and radio. This wireless router is available on sale for a price of $159 and is being offered to customers by around 77 companies.
