Texas Instruments looking at China, Philippines for a new plant
Armand Arreza, administrator and chief executive officer of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority has claimed that US based tech giant Texas Instruments is looking at sites in Philippines or China to build a new plant.
This plant could see an investment of around a billion dollars. The company already has a plant located in Baguio City in northern Philippines. And as per incoming information, they are looking for 20 to 30 hectares to build a new plant.
Arreza said in a statement: “The intention is to build a sister plant for redundancy and back-up.” He further said that the decision would be made within a year. They have offered the company a location in the Subic Bay freeport near Manila and are also considering to offer them a location in Clark industrial zone.
