Carphone Warehouse Group acquire AOL’s British business
Carphone Warehouse Group PLC has confirmed that they are acquiring Time Warner Inc.’s British AOL business.
The deal is worth around 370 million pounds and it would make the mobile-phone retail chain the third-largest provider of broadband services in the U.K.
Carphone Warehouse Group also incidentally operates the mobile Internet portal MViva and they would now take over AOL’s Internet customer base along with the supporting management and infrastructure.
AOL would continue to provide co-branded portal, content and other audience services.
The deal with AOL would however require approval from the European Union regulators.
