Microsoft acquire developers of virtual service agents Colloquis

Software giant Microsoft has announced that they are acquiring the software company Colloquis. Colloquis is a privately held firm, which specializes in developing virtual service agents programmed to answers questions online.

Microsoft would now use their technology to provide Windows Live Service Agent business for clients. It might even be integrated with their Xbox video game group.

The company added that the 36 people employed by Colloquis would continue to work in the company’s current facilities located in Sunnyvale, California, and New York City.

Colloquis chief executive Stephen Klein spoke on this new development: “The Colloquis team fully believes in the tremendous potential of natural language software. Microsoft has the resources to not only unlock that potential, but to leverage its expansive customer base to create truly innovative real-world uses. We’re excited to see what the future holds.”
