Emirates Airlines might lease Boeing planes as Airbus delay deliveries
Dubai’s Emirates Airlines has said in a statement that they are considering leasing as many as seven Boeing aircraft after Airbus announced that the Airbus A380 would be delayed.
Emirates are incidentally currently the largest ordered of this plane. And the delay is going to mess up their future plans to compete on the global market.
As per incoming information, emirates would not receive its first A380 until August 2008 and they might lease between five and seven Boeing 777-300 ERs in the next few days.
Emirates chief executive Tim Clark said in a statement: “(Emirates) will probably acquire five or seven more 777-300ERs in the next few days for delivery in the second half of 2008.”
He also clarified that the order for the A380 plane is intact despite the recently announced delays.
