Volvo’s Indian unit has established a new technology center at Bagmane Park in Bangalore. This center would be supporting the other Volvo Group activities in the areas of IT and Truck product development.
This new facility was inaugurated by Eric Leblanc, Managing Director, Volvo India along with Ulf Nilsson CEO, Volvo IT & Anders Ydergard, Senior Vice President, Volvo 3P Product Development.
This unit Volvo 3P would be focusing on building India as a base for Truck Product Development aimed at supporting strategic expansion in Asia. Another unit Volvo IT will increase its local sourcing from India as well as support its growing customers business in the country.
Volvo is rapidly increasing their focus on the Asian markets including India. And to support their customers in this region, they need to expand their presence in the various Asian countries.
Anders Ydergard, Senior Vice President, Volvo 3P Product Development said in a statement on this new initiative: “The Volvo Group’s business is expanding in Asia and we see the strengthening of our activities here in Bangalore as way to support this growth’. However, it is very clear that we are in the right place at the right time.”
