Indian gets its first Airbus A-319 from the European aircraft manufacturer
Indian (Indian Airlines) has received the delivery of the first of the 43 aircrafts they had ordered from European manufacturer Airbus Industries.
This plane arrived at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) yesterday morning.
The plane is a 122-seater Airbus A-319 and it was received at the airport by Aviation Minister Praful Patel, Indian chief Vishwapati Trivedi and senior officials of the ministry and other agencies.
The order placed with Airbus included 19 A-319, 20 A-321 and 4 A-320. The market price of this order stands around USD 2 billion.
Airbus is expected to deliver six planes next year, 12 in 2008, 18 in 2009 and the last six in 2010.
