BBC outsourcing to India
BBC has said that they are outsourcing some of its accounting and financing services to India. This move would save the company around £20 million a year for the next decade.
Xansa has won this contract for providing payroll management and financial management services.
They would now be providing customer support services from the UK but other services would take place from their Chennai based offices.
These savings would be part of BBC’s target of releasing £355 million of savings to invest in programs and services.
BBC added in a statement: “The BBC is taking advantage of the significant savings of globalization while maintaining the benefits of more local customer support.”
