DaimlerChrysler in talks with two companies for their small car venture in USA
As per incoming reports, DaimlerChrylser has narrowed down their vision to just two companies now. This was reported in a newspaper article, which quoted company Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche.
However, the company is somewhat worried about giving any Chinese firm a leg up in the U.S. market.
Zetsche said in his statement: “We spoke with a handful of possible partners and there are two left now.” He hopes to have a confirmed deal signed up before the end of the year.
Market sources claim that China’s Chery could be one of the two companies. Zetsche added about the possibility of dealing with a Chinese company: “One reason why we have not concluded a deal with the potential partners is also the question of how we avoid that. We have very clear ideas there. Regardless of this, there is no doubt that not only Chery but also other Chinese rivals will sell their products in America and the rest of the world, with us or without us.”
