Softbank Mobile stops acceptance of new connections due to excessive demand
Japanese mobile phone carrier Softbank Mobile recently announced a massive drop in prices for their mobile services. However the company has now said that they are pausing the acceptance of new connections due to excessive demand in the market.
This can be considered as a victory for the company as they are aiming to gain from the newly introduced number portability system in the country.
Consumers in Japan can continue to keep the same number while switching the carriers.
Softbank recently bought British carrier Vodafone’s mobile business in Japan earlier this year and is working hard to catch up with bigger rivals including NTT DoCoMo and KDDI Corp.
The company is offering packages which feature free calls and instant messages between subscribers, and lowers basic monthly fees.
