Reliance Fresh: Reliance enters the retailing market
Reliance Industries has entered the retailing segment in India with the launch of the first retail format called Reliance Fresh in Hyderabad.
Reliance Fresh is spread over 2,000-5,000 sq ft and 11 more such stores are planned for the city.
These stores would sell fresh fruit and vegetables besides staples in addition to company’s own products Reliance Select.
Reliance is interestingly also targeting vegetable sellers as they are setting up Ranger Farms which would cater to street side vegetable sellers who can stock up on fresh farm produce. These would remain open from 2 am to 9 am.
Delhi and Mumbai are the next two cities where Reliance would be coming up with these kinds of retail chains.
