Deccan Aviation to launch air cargo services
Leaders in budget airline market in India Deccan Aviation Ltd. have said that they are now launching their air cargo services in the country.
They would launch these new services through a new subsidiary. A company representative added that they would sell a 1.96 percent stake for up to 295 million rupees to Investec Bank (UK) Ltd.
Managing Director G.R. Gopinath added in a statement: “We have a long association with Investec and they wanted a stake. The funds will be used for expansion.”
They plan to start these new operations in six to nine months. This subsidiary would have its own fleet but would subcontract engineering and maintenance to Air Deccan.
Air Deccan on its own has 40 planes flying to 60 centers.
