Lenovo might enter budget PC segment in USA
China based PC manufacturing giants Lenovo recently became a global players when they acquired the personal computer division of the US based tech giants IBM. The company is now reported to have plans to soon start selling low-priced computers targeted at small U.S. businesses.
This would mean that the company would be taking their brand outside China for the first time. Lenovo is planning to introduce a line of notebooks and desktops using both Intel and AMD based processors.
These new laptops (3000 Series) are expected to be cheap and would be priced beginning from just around $599. The low-end desktops are expected to be priced from $349. Lenovo has expressed their plans for a major global push for its notebook PCs beginning this year.
Lenovo is already the China’s largest PC manufacturer and is ranked third in the world. They also sell computers in the US market under the brand names ThinkPad and ThinkCentre acquired from IBM.
