Gateway launches Opteron powered server products
After Dell, Gateway has now launched Advanced Micro Devices’ Opteron processor powered server products.
The company has announced three new systems powered by AMD’s dual-core processors. Gateway added that they plan to create an entire line of servers running on Opteron.
They already have a huge range of server products powered by Intel processors. Tim Diefenthaler, senior director of product marketing at Gateway said in a statement that they have been planning to launch these products since quite sometime.
Rob Enderle, an analyst with the Enderle Group spoke about this deal. He said that adopting AMD technology was a good move by Gateway.
