Fiat to help Tata Motors in their Rs. 1 lakh car project
Indian automaker Tata Motors has now signed up with Italian giant Fiat. The two companies would now work together on the engine technology for its Rs 1 lakh car.
As per incoming reports, Tata has already completed its work on a prototype vehicle which is currently being tested at their plant.
Tata Motors believe that support from Fiat would help them smoothen the process of developing a suitable engine for the Rs. 1 lakh car.
Tata is currently scheduled to deliver their car in 2008 and they are working on establishing a manufacturing base in West Bengal. They are aiming at sales of 500,000 units in the first year itself.
