T-Online told to destroy ISP Logs on customer request
Germany based internet users have something to cheer about now. Customers of internet service provider T-Online could now potentially ask the company to destroy the logs of their activities.
A court ruling has now ordered T-Online that it must destroy activity logs of users who request the action. They can however avoid taking this step if they can provide legal justification.
This ruling is now expected to make it difficult for groups to prove piracy among T-Online users.
This is good news for customers who are afraid of the fact that their online activities are in fact buried in the logs of their ISP which can be misused against them in the future.
