Venezuela puts restrictions on US airlines
The South American country Venezuela has said that they are putting on restrictions on flights operated by US airline companies including Delta Air Lines Inc., Continental Airlines, and AMR Corp.’s American Airlines.
The reason behind these restrictions is the failure of the US authorities to comply with the bilateral aviation accords. This information was released to the media by Venezuela officials and local industry groups.
Venezuela’s INAC aviation authority added in a statement that the frequency of passenger and cargo flights would be reduced for these particular US based Airline companies from this coming March. They further claimed that these restrictions are based on the principles of equality, reciprocity, and fair opportunities.
