Rumor: Taiwan’s Hon Hai to make Apple iPhone and notebooks
Media group Commercial Times has said in a report that Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd has received contracts from the US based Apple Computer to build around 12 million units of mobile phone handsets.
This mobile phone handset would also behave like a digital music player and might be the much talked about Apple iPhone device.
The newspaper further said that the company is expected to launch this device in the first half of next year. Though, they failed to provide the financial details of the contract said to be signed between the two companies.
The report added that Hon Hai has also received orders for manufacturing the new 15-inch ‘MacBook’ notebook computers for the Apple Computer company. The newspaper further said that this new contract given to Hon Hai would not affect Apple’s current contracts with Asustek Computer Inc.
None of the involved parties have commented on this market rumor report.
