Apple iPod to be supported on airplanes now
Apple Computer has announced that as many as six major airlines would soon allow their passengers to play video and music from their iPods on the in-flight entertainment systems.
This new service is expected to be available starting from early next year. The company has gone into collaboration with airline operators including Air France, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, KLM and United Airlines to offer this new service.
These airline operators would start offering their passengers iPod seat connections. This would help the users charge their iPods during the flights and listen to their own music and videos.
This is good news for Apple iPod owners who already have similar options in a variety of cars offered in the market today. The timing too is perfect, as Microsoft has just launched their Zune digital music player to take on Apple iPod.
