Randy Falco is the new CEO of AOL

Time Warner has announced the appointment of Randy Falco as the new CEO of their AOL internet division. He would take over from Jonathan Miller.

Randy Falco is currently the President of the NBC Universal Television Group and he would now look after the AOL’s attempt to become a major player on the internet. Miller would be leaving the company.

AOL recently announced their plans to change their business model from being an ISP to provider of online content and services. Since then, they have offered all kind of free services and software products to lure in web users.

Time Warner Chief Executive Dick Parsons said in a statement on this new development: “AOL is showing early success in transitioning to an advertising-focused business model, and Randy is a first-rate choice to ensure AOL realizes its promise.”

AOL is doing well since their transition began. Time Warner recently reported in November that profit grew at its cable and AOL Internet divisions as they gained from improved returns from online advertising.
