Bharti might be collaborating with Wal-Mart for retail venture in India
Indian telecom giants Bharti Enterprises Ltd. has said in a statement that they are still in talks with several potential partners for their retail venture in the Indian market.
However, many media outlets have speculated that Wal-Mart might have already secured this deal.
Bharti Chairman Sunil Mittal had said in a statement last month that a deal is likely to be announced by the end of this month.
He had admitted that they were talking with Wal-Mart, the UK’s Tesco Plc and France’s Carrefour. A company representative updates now: “Despite media reports that we have reached a deal, we continue to be in talks with all the global majors. Any deal takes time.”
