Ford aiming at doubling sales in China this year
US based automaker Ford has said that they are looking at double the sales volume for this year compared to last year in the Chinese auto market.
The company has posted strong growth in the first 10 months this year.
Ford added that that the growth is expected to exceed 100.8% on-year in 2006. They are gaining sales in sales of brands including Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo.
The first 10 months of the year saw ford branded vehicle sales doubling to more than 118,160 units from a year earlier. Overall, they are looking at sales of about 300,000 units this year for all their brands in the country.
The company added that they would soon launch the S-MAX, in China, through its Changan Ford Mazda joint venture.
