Boeing gets a mega order from Korean Air

Boeing Co. has confirmed that they have received a big order from Korean Air Co. Korean Air is placing an order for 25 passenger and freighter aircraft. These planes are worth around $5.5 billion at market price.

This order also includes an option for eight additional planes. And with this Boeing has received orders for 847 planes so far this year. Airbus in comparison only has orders for around 508 planes at the moment.

This deal also helped Boeing shine at the stock market as their share price touched an all-time high of $90.15 on the New York Stock Exchange. This year has been impressive for Boeing considering they have been beaten by their European rival in terms of orders received since the last five years.

Korean Air already has a fleet of 118 aircraft and they are aiming to become one of the world’s top 10 passenger carriers by 2010.
