Tata Consultancy Services to train graduates to become IT professionals

India’s largest software company Tata Consultancy Services has said that they would be hiring about 2000 B.Sc. and B.C.A. graduates in this academic session.

They would train these individuals to become top class IT professionals. However, they would be hired as trainees and would be making less money compared to engineers.

The company has tied up with as many as 350 colleges for this programme. TCS overall employs about 60,000 people. And as much as 15-20% of its revenues are spent on their salaries.

TCS CEO and MD S Ramadorai spoke about this innovative program: “About 500 students have already been hired for pilot projects of ‘TCS Talent Transformation Programme’ in its Chennai facility.”

He further said: “We may raise billing rates for existing contracts, which are up for renewal by 3 to 5%, and for new contracts by 5-10%.”
