Bajaj Auto to stop manufacturing 100cc Platina in the next couple of years
Indian two wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto has said that they would be replacing their 100cc bike segment with a completely new product platform.
They are continuing with their 100 cc Platina model for the time being but would soon be phasing it out for vehicles that are more powerful.
Interestingly, Bajaj is selling around a lakh unit of this 100cc bike in the Indian market, which is helping them, take on the domination of Hero Honda.
Bajaj Auto Managing Director, Rajiv Bajaj said in a statement: “We believe that the 100 cc 4-stroke motorcycle is as outdated today as 150 cc 2-stroke scooters were 10 years ago. We are confident that we can move a majority of the customers to a different product platform.”
