Ericsson to cut jobs in their Swedish operations

Wireless equipment maker LM Ericsson AB has said in a statement that they are planning to cut up to 400 administrative and sales jobs in Sweden.

However, the company clarified that most of these individuals would be offered positions with staffing company Manpower Inc.

Ericsson further added that they expect around 400 workers to accept a voluntary redundancy offer. This offer includes either a severance package or a job with Manpower as a consultant.

They aim to give this option to around 4,600 workers in sales, marketing and administration based in Stockholm. Ericsson said that they expect this restructuring to end by January next year.

The company employs more than 56,000 people globally.
