Xie Wen quits as the president of Yahoo! China
Yahoo China has announced that their president Xie Wen has resigned from his position in the company. Surprisingly, Wen had taken up this position just 40 days back.
Wen was the chief executive of Chinese financial Web portal Hexun.com before he joined Yahoo! China as the president.
The company said that Wen is leaving the company for personal reasons. He would however now become a strategic advisor to Alibaba and Zeng Ming would be serving as the acting president of the company until they find a suitable replacement.
Market analysts believe that this resignation was a result of conflicting opinions on the future plans of the company in the country. Yahoo! China is going through a massive restructuring after it was acquired by Alibaba.com.
Alibaba founder Jack Ma had recently said in a statement that they expect the company to become profitable in 2007.
