IBM to acquire Vallent Corp.
US based tech giants IBM has said that they are now acquiring Vallent Corp. Vallent is based in Bellevue, Wash. and they specialize in making network-monitoring tools for wireless service providers.
IBM did not reveal the financial aspects of this deal.
Vallent has many big names in their customer base including Cingular, Nextel, and China Mobile. IBM said that they would be integrating their products in their Tivoli Netcool line.
IBM added that this deal would give them key technologies and expertise in this market which is expanding fast as more and more transactions and data is transmitted wirelessly. A company representative said: “We already understand the backbone; this gives us solutions all the way out to the handset.”
This deal is likely to close by the first quarter of next year and IBM plans to retain the employees of the company.
