AllofMP3.com might be closed after all
Russia seems to have agreed to demands made by USA and they are now likely to close the digital music download service AllofMP3.com.
The American government demanded that this site should be closed as they considered it illegal and promoting music piracy.
And with this Russia has somewhat improved their chances of getting into the World Trade Organization (WTO). The Russian government is also likely to close down other websites that infringe copyrights.
The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) has been accusing services like Allofmp3.com saying that they were illegal services selling digital music on the net. The owners of this service have however denied that they are running an illegal website.
Allofmp3.com claims that they pay fees to the Russian Multimedia and Internet Society (ROMS), which supposedly represents artists and copyright holders in Russia.
