Hilton Hotels Corporation and DLF to build 75 hotels in India

Hilton Hotels Corporation is collaborating with Indian real estate giants DLF. The two companies now plan to build 75 hotels in India.

They are forming a joint venture, which will develop one of the largest international hotel chains in the country over the next seven years.

This happens to be one of the biggest Hilton expansions outside the North American continent. Their hotels would represent several brands from Hilton Hotels Corporation’s brand portfolio, including Hilton Hotels, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites by Hilton and Hilton Residences.

Hilton aims to spend as much as $143 million on this venture in the coming years. The initial plan would see them setup 20 hotels in cities like Chandigarh, Chennai, and Kolkata.

Ian Carter, executive vice president of Hilton Hotels Corporation and CEO of Hilton International Operations spoke on this venture: “India is an outstanding market for hotel development, given its powerful combination of economics and demographics. Hilton will build on its collective experience in India and the opportunity with DLF is a compelling next step to capitalize on the development momentum and build our Hilton Family of Brands in India.”
