Cisco has big plans for India
US based tech giant Cisco has said that they have high expectations from the Indian market. The company now plans to make India their base for the globalization drive.
Cisco also said that they expect India to one day account for half its future workforce growth.
Cisco chief executive John Chambers added in a statement that they are planning to increase the already announced 1.1 billion dollar investment in India.
He said: “Cisco chose India as the location from which to expand its globalization vision because India has a highly skilled workforce supportive government policies. Every market will be an export market for India.”
The company is already aiming to double their headcount in India to 6,000 within the next three to five years.
Cisco originally entered into the Indian market way back in 1995 and currently has around 2,000 people in its global research and development centre in Bangalore.
