Nuance Communications planning to acquire MobileVoiceControl
Nuance is planning to acquire MobileVoiceControl. The company has been active in the mobile market for voice-enabled services since a long time and this acquisition proves that the market for speech-enabled mobile search and messaging services is growing at a rapid pace.
Dan Miller, analyst for Opus Research spoke on this deal: “This is the beginning of some serious recognition that speech-enabling transactions open the door for some ear-popping revenue streams.”
The market is expected to get a major boost with the entry of speech-enabled search to advertising. Google would be a major player in this market. Miller added: “There’s a revenue spike when people start using these services. Carriers are finding ways to bump up revenues from subscribers, without raising data rate plans. The light bulb is coming on.”
MobileVoiceControl is a provider of speech-enabled mobile search and messaging services and this deal would help Nuance expand into the potentially lucrative market that is attracting the attention of wireless carriers.
