IBM acquires Consul Risk Management

US based technology giants IBM has confirmed that they are acquiring Consul Risk Management, a Dutch maker of security and compliance products.

With this, IBM would be filling out its portfolio of IT management software. Consul specializes in developing software which help companies monitor system access, automate compliance reporting, secure mainframe computers, and catch unauthorized database usage.

The two companies did not disclose the financial aspects of this deal. Some of the customers of Consul include big names like Fidelity Information Services, Ford Motor Co., and the Philadelphia Stock Exchange.

IBM added that they would be adding the product range acquired from Consul into their Tivoli line of IT management software. IBM has been acquiring a lot of companies in the recent times as they aim to expand their range of services and products.
